The Austrian artist Otto Zitko is known for his abstract and intuitive formal language based on the line as a fundamental means of expression. In doing so, Zitko never works with a brush, but exclusively with a painter’s roller or oil pen. He resorts to a wide variety of media, produces wall paintings or works on aluminum panels. The artist’s physicality and movement inscribe themselves into the mesh of lines. Zitko’s CRONE Edition consists of two motifs that can be shown and hung alone or together. The artist leaves open whether they refer to each other: “That, like everything in art, is in the eye of the beholder.”
